God has been good to me

http://christiansblogss.blogspot.com

This story, God Has Been Good to Me, is a heart warming story. I guess we never view life in such a way. We all complain when life seems unfair to us. We have never taken into account how much we are blessed. Well, God has been good to me.

For 25 years, I watched him fight
cancer of the face.

First just a small speck that begin to grow larger. Year after year I watch him go to hospital to have a bit cut out each time. As the years went by, more and more of his face was cut away. When he returned with what is left of his face, he tried to smile. He never complained or was downhearted.

He was a skilful mechanic and carpenter. In fact, he was one of the best. Whenever he did a job, he stand back to see if there is anything left out that could be added to make it perfect. Then he would see some little place that the average person would pass up. He would then touch up this or that.

I suspect he said this to himself “My work will be my face and my life” I doubt if he often look in the mirror at that damaged face where the cancer eat into everyday. No matter how humble the pace he worked in, how small the job is or how crude the other workers seem, it never bother him at all. This was his work and it has to be done right. He never glance at the work of others; a shoddy work done by others was not his concern. Nevertheless, I suspect when the job was done, he had a sense of inner pride and joy when he saw how outstanding it was. But he never boasted about it.

As the years went by, he became weaker and weaker. His hands did not move with confidence and speed that so characterized him. He was unable to do many things. However no matter what the work or pay, he always had the insatiable desire to do a good job.

The help he got was not able to catch his vision. They thought he was cranky to try so hard to complete each and every detail. So he worked alone. He did not complain or bitterly rail at the others. He would just appear the next morning by himself with no explanation of the absence of his helpers.

During the latter day, he had only the shambles of a face. He would wrap it up in a red bandana handkerchief, leaving only his eyes showing.

When you met him on the streets, he would always give a cheery greeting. As time went on, it was more and more difficult to say he words. Often he would move his walking stick. This stick, too, was a thing of beauty, carved out by his skilful hands.

His life seemed to be filled with contentment and peace. I suspect that he thanked God for those hands and the fact that it was not marred in any way.

He would often be missed about his usual haunts for weeks or months. He would make his journey to the hospital for the surgeon to cut away more of his face. Then you would see him again, a bit more gruesome. There would be no complain, no telling of his operation and pain. He would just quietly go to work that was awaiting for him.

In all his time, I never knew him to come back with any complaints about the pain. You would think there was nothing the matter if you did not see his face. When the days of his labors seem to becoming to an end, his chief concern was that his tools might be in good hands. He sent for me one day and told me he wished someone would appreciate the tools and use them properly.

When I took a young man to see him about the tools, there came a look of contentment and satisfaction. His work was finished and he was ready to cash in.

A few days before he died he was walking in the yard. His face was nearly completely covered with bandages. Only his eyes were uncovered. As he hobbled about the yard, he said “I am going to keep young just as long as I can”

The day he died, I went to see him again. The odor was so offensive you could hardly stay there. What was left of his face was a mass of scars and there was really nothing to cut away. You could tell he was in great pain and had many sleepless nights. But still there were no words of complaints.

I shall never forget his last words. Ever afterwards they have made me ashamed whenever I feel inclined to complain. Still day after day, they are vivid in my mind.

The words are “God has been good to me. I had never had any reason to complain”

M A Y B E

"Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.

When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one that has been opened for us.

The best kind of friend is the kind that you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back! Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their hearts but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours.

It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don’t go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.

There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!

Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because life is short and now is when you have the chance to do all the things you want to do.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.

Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person too.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives.

Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear.

The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can't go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one who is smiling and everyone else is crying."

Only If I Try

Sometimes, only if I try, that is the only way I can know if it can be done or not.

There was a young man named Kimana. He wanted to marry the Sky Maiden. He wrote a letter to her father, the Sun Chief.
Kimana went to Rabbit. "Will you take this letter?"

Rabbit said, "I cannot go to Heaven." Kimana went to Antelope.
"Will you take this letter?" Antelope said, "I cannot go to Heaven."
Kimana went to Hawk. "Will you take this letter?"
Hawk said, "I can go halfway. But I cannot go to Heaven."
Then Frog came to Kimana.
"Why do you not take the letter yourself?"
Kimana said, "This I cannot do."
Frog said, "Then I will take it for you."
Kimana laughed. "Can a frog take a letter to Heaven?"
Frog said, "Whatever it is, I can do it. But only if I try."

Now, Frog lived by a well. Every day, the girls who served the Sun Chief came to this well. They climbed down from Heaven on a web made by Spider. Then they filled their water jugs and went home. Frog put the letter in his mouth and hid in the well. The girls from Heaven came for water, singing their song.

Good day to you, my sister.
Good day to you.

They lowered their jugs into the well, and Frog jumped into one. The girls did not see. Then the girls climbed back up the web of Spider. They went into the house of the Sun Chief and left the jugs in a room.

Frog was alone. He jumped out of the jug and spit the letter out on a bench. Then he hid in a corner. The Sun Chief came for a drink of water. He saw the letter and opened it.

He read,"I, Kimana, a man of earth, wish to marry the Sky Maiden, your daughter."
The Sun Chief said,
"How can this be?"
He went to the girls who fetched water.
"Did you bring this letter?"
The girls said, "We did not."
He went to his wife, the Moon Lady, and read it to her.
"What should we do?"
The Moon Lady said,
"Don't ask me! Ask your daughter!"
He went to his daughter. The Sky Maiden said,
"Let us see if he can bring a wedding gift."

So the Sun Chief wrote a letter and set it on the bench. Then he went away. Frog came out and put the letter in his mouth. Then he climbed into an empty jug.

The next day, the girls took the jugs and climbed down to earth, singing their song.

Good day to you, my sister.
Good day to you.

They lowered their jugs into the well, and Frog jumped out. The girls did not see. Then the girls went back to Heaven.

Frog took the letter to Kimana, and Kimana read it. "You may marry my daughter if you bring a purse of money."
Kimana said, "This I cannot do."
Frog said, "Then I will bring it for you."
Kimana laughed. "You took a letter to Heaven. But can you bring a purse of money?"
Frog said, "Whatever it is, I can do it. But only if I try."
Kimana gave Frog a purse of money. Frog took hold of it with his mouth and carried it to the well. He climbed in and waited.
The girls from Heaven came to the well.

Good day to you, my sister.
Good day to you.

Frog got into one of the jugs. The girls returned to Heaven and left him in the room. Frog set the money on the bench. Then he hid.

The Sun Chief came and found the purse.

"How can this be?"
He went to the girls.
"Did you bring this money?"
The girls said, "We did not."
He went to his wife. The Moon Lady said,
"Don't ask me! Ask your daughter!"
He went to his daughter. The Sky Maiden said,
"Let us see if he can come fetch me."
So the Sun Chief wrote a letter and left it on the bench.
Frog put the letter in his mouth and climbed into an empty jug. The next day, the girls carried him to earth.

Good day to you, my sister.
Good day to you.

He jumped back into the well, and the girls went back to Heaven. Frog brought the letter to Kimana, and Kimana read it.

"You may marry my daughter if you come and fetch her."
Kimana said, "This I cannot do."
Frog said, "Then I will fetch her for you."
Kimana laughed. "You took a letter to Heaven. You brought a purse of money. But can you fetch a bride?"
Frog said, "Whatever it is, I can do it. But only if I try."
Frog climbed back into the well. The girls came with their jugs.

Good day to you, my sister.
Good day to you.

They carried him to Heaven. Frog jumped out. He spit in all the jugs of water. Ptui. Ptui. Ptui. Then he hid in an empty jug. The people of the house came and drank the water. They all got sick.

The Sun Chief called for the spirit doctor. The doctor told him,
"You promised your daughter to a man of earth, but she has not gone. He has sent an evil spirit with a sickness. The evil spirit is in the shape of a frog."

The Sun Chief went to his wife. The Moon Lady said, "Don't ask me! Ask your daughter!"
He went to his daughter. The Sky Maiden said, "I will go."
The next day, the Sky Maiden went with the girls down to the well.

Good day to you, my sister.
Good day to you.

The girls filled their jugs, and Frog jumped out. Then the girls left the Sky Maiden and went home.

Frog jumped out of the well. "I will lead you to your husband."
The Sky Maiden laughed. "Can a frog lead a woman?"
Frog said, "I took a letter to Heaven. I brought a purse of money. I fetched a bride. Whatever it was, I could do it. But only if I try."

The Sky Maiden said, "Then it is you I will marry."
She took Frog back to Heaven and married him. They lived on and on. And Kimana is still waiting for his bride.

My Day in Court

After living a "decent" life my time on earth came to an end. The first
thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I thought
to be a courthouse. The doors opened and I was instructed to come in and
have a seat by the defense table. As I looked around I saw the "prosecutor,"
he was a villainous looking gent who snarled, as he stared at me. He
definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen. I sat down and looked
to my left and there sat my lawyer, a kind and gentle looking man whose
appearance seemed very familiar to me. The corner door flew open and there
appeared the judge in full flowing robes.  He commanded an awesome presence
as he moved across the room, and I couldn't take my eyes off him. As he took
his seat behind the bench, he said "Let us begin."

The prosecutor rose and said "My name is Satan, and I am here to show you
why this man belongs in hell." He proceeded to tell of lies that I told,
things that I stole and in the past when I cheated others. Satan told of
other horrible perversions that were once in my life, and the more he spoke
the further down in my seat I sank. I was so embarrassed that I couldn't
look at anyone, even my own lawyer, as the Devil told of sins that even I
had completely forgotten about.

As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about me, I was
equally upset at my representative who sat there silently not offering any
form of defense at all. I know I had been guilty of those things, but I had
done some good in my life -- couldn't that at least equal out part of the
harm I've done. Satan finished with a fury and said  "This man belongs in
hell. he is guilty of all that I have charged and there is not a person who
can prove otherwise. Justice will finally be served this day."

When it was his turn, my lawyer first asked if he might approach the bench.
The judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan and beckoned him
to come forward. As he got up and started walking I was able to see him now
in his full splendor and majesty. Now I realized why he seemed so familiar.
his was Jesus representing me; my Lord and my Savior.  He stopped at the
bench and softly said to the judge, "Hi Dad," and then He turned to address
the court.

"Satan was correct in saying that this man had sinned.  I won't deny any of
these allegations. And yes the wages of sins is death and this man deserves
to be punished". Jesus took a deep breath and turned to His Father with
outstretched arms and proclaimed, "However, I died on the cross so that this
person might have eternal life, and he has accepted Me as his Savior, so he
is mine." My Lord continued with "His name is written in the book of life
and no one can snatch him from Me. Satan still does not understand yet, this
man is not to be given justice, but rather mercy."

As Jesus sat down, He quietly paused, looked at his Father and replied,
"There is nothing else that needs to be done, I've done it all."

The Judge lifted His mighty hand and slammed the gavel down, and the
following words bellowed from His lips -- "This man is free -- the penalty
for him has already been paid in full, case dismissed."

As my Lord led me away I could hear Satan ranting and raving, "I won't give
up, I'll win the next one." I asked Jesus as He gave me my instructions
where to go next, "Have you ever lost a case?"

Christ lovingly smiled and said, "Everyone that has come to me and asked Me
to represent them has received the same verdict as you, Paid in Full."

A Piece of Cake !

http://christiansblogss.blogspot.com/
Sometimes we ask ourselves: What did I do to deserve this?
Why does GOD let these things happen to me?

Here is the explanation...

Daughter tells her mother how everything is going wrong for her; she failed her math exam, her boyfriend just dumped her, her best friend does not want her.

In times so bad, the good mother knows just the thing to cheer up her daughter...
I will make a delicious cake for you...
saying so the mother hugged her daughter and walked her into the kitchen, while her daughter attempted to smile.

While the mother prepared the utensils and ingredients, the daughter sat across the counter.
Her mother asks her 'Sweetheart would you like a piece of cake?'

The daughter replies, 'Sure Mom, you know how I love cake!'

'Alright' the mother said, 'drink some of this cooking oil.'
Shocked, the daughter responded, "what, no way!!!"
'How about a couple of raw eggs?' to this the daughter responded, "no way!"
'How about some flour?' no mom, "I will be sick!"

The mother responded, 'All of these are uncooked and taste bad, but if you put them together, THEY MAKE A DELICIOUS CAKE!!!'

GOD works the same way. When we ask ourselves why he makes us go through these difficult times, we don't realize what/where these events lead us to. Only he knows and he will not let us fall. We don't need to settle for the raw ingredients, trust in him and see the fantastic thing come about!

God loves us so much...
He sends us lovely flowers every spring...
He makes the sun rise every morning...
Anytime you need to talk, he is there to listen...
He can live anywhere, but he chose to live in your heart!!!

And keep the HOPE that one day, your day is
"A piece of CAKE!!!"

Have a great day... Oops I also mean have a great CAKE!!!

Nonetheless these are some very good instructions for life.

God's Promises

http://christiansblogss.blogspot.com
EVERY GOOD THING

Phil 4:19 And my God will liberally supply your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 84:11 For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor and [future] glory (honor, splendor, and heavenly bliss)! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. Psalm 34:10 The young lions lack food and suffer hunger, but they who seek (inquire of and require) the Lord [by right of their need and on the authority of His Word], none of them shall lack any beneficial thing. Matthew7:8 Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened. What man is there of you, if his son asks him for a loaf of bread, will hand him a stone? If he asks for a fish, will hand him a serpent? If You then, evil as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give good and advantageous things to those who keep on asking Him! Matthew 6:32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all. But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.

MEET YOUR NEEDS

Psalm 34:9 O fear the Lord, you His saints [revere and worship Him]! For there is no want to those who truly revere and worship Him with godly fear. The young lions lack food and suffer hunger, but they who seek (inquire of and require) the Lord [by right of their need and on the authority of His Word], none of them shall lack any beneficial thing. Psalm 23:1 THE LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack. John 15:7 If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. Proverbs 10:24 The thing a wicked man fears shall come upon him, but the desire of the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall be granted.

ALL DESIRES

Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. Mark 11:24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. ALL THINGS

1 Corinthians 3:21 So let no one exult proudly concerning men [boasting of having this or that man as a leader], for all things are yours, 22Whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas (Peter), or the universe or life or death, or the immediate and threatening present or the [subsequent and uncertain] future--all are yours, 23And you are Christ's, and Christ is God's. Matthew 21:2 And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and [really] believing, you will receive.

LIBERALLY AND FREELY

James 1:5 If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. Romans 8:32 He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things?

ANY THING

Matthew 18:19 Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven. John 14:14 [Yes] I will grant [ I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM].

A DIFFERENCE

http://christiansblogss.blogspot.com/
Amidst the morning mist of the swift returning tide
I set out on my daily run, my Walkman on my side.
Lost within my private world apart from cares and woes
I ran along the moistened shore, the sand between my toes.

In the distance, I saw a boy, as busy as can be.
He was running, stooping, picking up, and tossing in the sea.
Just what he threw, I couldn't tell, I looked as I drew near.
It seemed to be a rock or shell — as I approached him I could hear:

"Back you go, where you belong. You're safe now hurry home.
Your family's waiting for you, little starfish, hurry on!"
It seemed the evening tide had washed the starfish on the shore,
And the swift receding water left a thousand there or more.

And this self-appointed savior, was trying one-by-one
To toss them back into the sea, against the racing sun.
I saw his plight was hopeless, that most of them would die.
I called out from my private world, "Hey Kid, why even try?"

"Must be at least a thousand here, strewn along the beach,
And even if you had the time, most you'll never reach.
You really think it makes a difference, to waste your time this way?"
And then I paused and waited, just to hear what he would say.

He stooped and took another, and looked me in the eye.
"It makes a difference to this one sir, this starfish will not die!"
With that, he tossed the little life, back where there was hope.
He stooped to take another. I could tell this was no joke.

The words that he spoke to me cut like a surgeon's knife.
Where I saw only numbers, he saw only life.
He didn't see the multitude of starfish on the sand.
He only saw the little life he held there in his hand.

He didn't stop to argue, to prove that he was right.
He just kept tossing starfish in the sea with all his might.
So I too stooped, and I picked up, and I tossed into the sea,
And I thought, just what a difference, that this boy has made in me.

Fabric of Life

https://christiansblogss.blogspot.com/2014/02/fabric-of-life.html

My life is a weaving between me and my God.
I may not choose the colors; he knows what they should be.
He can view the pattern upon the upper side,
While I can see it only on this under side.
Sometimes he weaveth sorrow; which seems so strange to me.
But I will trust his judgement and work on faithfully.
Its he who fills the shuttle; He knows just what is best
So I shall weave in earnest and leave the rest with him.
At last… When life ends I shall abide with him
And I shall know the reason why pain was entwined with joy was woven…

In the fabric of life that God designed.
